"In politics I am growing indifferent -- I would like it, if I could now return to my planting and books at home."

 Library Remodel (back of building)

Last winter our library received a wonderful opportunity to improve our library when we received a $25,000 grant from The Robert C. Reinhardt Library Fund to finish a large area of the basement!

Our summer reading program, preschool story hour, and programs for Headstart children have been expanding and additional space is needed to continue these and other programs  This area would have numerous other uses including programs for adults, meetings, book sales, tutoring, and social events.  The area would also be available for individuals or businesses to use for a nominal fee.

To make this area usable for the public, we would have to make it handicap accessible by constructing a ramp and installing handicap restrooms in the lower level.  (Detailed drawings are available at the Library and City Hall.)

Completion of this project will require an additional $25,000.  As funding for public libraries is at an all-time low, it is not prudent to take it from the fund equity.  Therefore, we are applying for additional grants and are asking area businesses and individuals to help us take advantage of this opportunity by assisting with this worthwhile project.  All donations are tax deductible.  Thank you for any assistance you can give.
